BLESSED BROKENNESS:
Former Priest Shares His Story
Blaine came from a broken family. His father suffered from PTSD following the Korean War, but pointed him towards Franciscan University. There he caught fire, entered seminary, and was ordained a priest. A number of things contributed to a fog of war. And he fell. Big. He speaks of the great humility of the King of Kings condescending into his priestly hands tainted by mortal sin. The fog became a cloud. The cloud, darkness. He left the active priesthood and married in a Methodist Church. A year later he was separated from his wife and fell even further. But God was not far away.
Such a powerful journey of grace. Leading to being laicized and solidly married. Bringing him to this moment in time, infusing him with a passion for all to know Jesus Christ. To both priests and lay, Blaine gives great testimony to the epic hinge: Embracing the suffering of Jesus Christ.
